FolderHighlight
What is this?
This is a tool, that
makes the management of your folders' appearence more flexible and handy. With
FolderHighlight you can mark out important folders with a color or an icon. It
is a fact that human's brain accepts information firstly as visual patterns. So
if you open "My documents" and see a hundred of similar folder icons
you won't be able to use your visual perception's advantages. But if documents
you work with this month are marked out with a red color, such a folder will
strike your eye before you read its name. This approach's advantages are obvious!

How do I use this?
That's very Easy! All you need is to choose the folder
you want to mark out, make a mouse right click on it, select FolderHighlight in
the Drop Down menu and then choose the suitable appearance.
What are the System Requirements?
FolderHighlight uses technologies first implemented in
Windows 2000, so application will work at Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and WinXP,
Vista and Windows 7. Both x86 and x64 platforms are supported.
What are the limitations of the trial version?
The trial version of the application is fully functional
for 30 days. After that period you'll have to buy a registration key. Once you've got the
key select "Register..." in the FolderHighlight context menu and
enter it in the form appeared.
Example of usage:
Step 1. You choose a folder which's color you want to change.
Step 2. You right click the mouse at the folder and the
drop down menu appears. You select "FolderHighlight".
Step 3. You select the most suitable folder appearance
and see how your folder look changes.
FAQ
Q: I'd changed the
folder icon but changes didn't applied to it at the time. Only after I closed
the window and opened it again I saw that folder look was changed.
A: Windows OS tries to improve the perfomance caching folder icons. Therefore
sometimes changes made to the folder appearance do not apply at the time. You shouldn't worry
about it. All you need is to refresh the window pressing F5.
Q: I've changed a folder
icon. Can I copy it to another locations saving its color?
A: You can copy folders
across supported volumes without losing their colors.
Q: If I burn highlighted
folders to CD-Rs, will I see the changed folders icons
A: Sure... Burning
folders will not reset their colors.
